Marcel Rivera Treviño—known simply as Marce—was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, just south Texas’ border. A passion for helping people and improving community life led to a Bachelor of Business Administration in Monterrey. This passion then motivated a move to San Antonio, Texas, to pursue a Theology Degree at the University of the Américas, preparing for non-profit work.Marce was admitted to Wake Forest University, a top-20 U.S. institution, followed for a Master’s degree in Humanities/Divinity. After graduation, a relocation to Texas saw the calling to serve continue in the communities of Corpus Christi and Odessa.The next career step involved joining the faculty of Universidad Anáhuac, one of Mexico’s most prestigious universities. Subsequently, a move was made to Tec de Monterrey (ranked among the world’s top 182 universities), to lecture in both the humanities and the political & international relations departments. During this time, a second master’s degree in Public Administration and Public Policy was completed at Tec de Monterrey, before relocating to Mexico City, where life is now based.Currently, a Ph.D. in Critical Gender Studies is underway at Universidad Iberoamericana, a notable institution within the Jesuit International Associations. The core passions remain steadfast: serving others, sharing knowledge, and advocating for Women’s and LGBTQ+ rights.
